Sierra Aero offers, in addition to aerial photography and video, flight instruction from Private pilot through Instrument, Commercial and Initial Flight Instructor (CFI), scenic introduction flights in the Truckee Tahoe area and aircraft maintenance services from small general aviation aircraft (e.g. Cessna 172, Piper Archer) through medium sized multi engine aircraft (e.g. Cessna 414, Piper Navajo). Maintenance services are offered through Todd Aero where I am one of 3 FAA licensed Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanics (now known as Aviation Maintenance Technicians [AMT]) based at the facility.

Sierra Aero is based out of Truckee Tahoe airport (KTRK), California (CA) only minutes from downtown Truckee, Tahoe Donner and approx 15 minutes from Kings beach and Tahoe City on North shore Lake Tahoe, State line casinos and many of the areas top skiing and snowboarding areas such as Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Sugarbowl near Donner Pass and Northstar are also close by. Head East 35 minutes on Interstate 80 and you will find Reno, Nevada with it's world class casinos and International airport (KRNO). Feel free to contact me for local area advice.

For tourists visiting California and coming to the Truckee Tahoe / Sierra Nevada region, I highly recommend an aerial sightseeing scenic flight where, in addition to feasting your eyes over truly spectacular scenery and rugged mountainous terrain you will also get a chance flying the aeroplane yourself, for licensed pilots, U.S. or foreign, you will be able to fly yourself around anywhere you please, i will be on board if it is a short flight or you may prefer to get checked out in one of our aircraft, I also offer mountain / high density altitude operations training.
